An OTDR launch cable, which connects the OTDR to the link-under-test, discloses the insertion loss and reflectance of the near-end connection. It is often available on a small spool or within a “launch box”, which is used to create the proper conditions for testing another similar optical fiber for faults. This method avoids undesirable variations in loss and distance measurements. A launch fiber will help to overcome the blind spot or Dead Zone of an OTDR brought about by high launch power or faults near the launch end of the fiber.
The DTX-MFM2 fiber module are used with a DTX Series Cable Analyzer to test and certify fiber optic cabling installations.
Cleaver tracking and upkeep with wireless communication. Automated wind protector, sheath clamps, and splice operation. Fiber type identification. Loose and tight buffer with the same sheath clamp. Lithium-ion battery with 300 splices/shrinks per charge. 5 mm cleave length for small package needs. Multi-function transit case with an integrated workstation.

The Fujikura 70S+ is the world’s fastest and most robust core alignment fusion splicer. A user-programmable, automated wind protector expedites the splicing process by automatically closing to initiate the splicing process and opening upon splice completion. Fully programmable “auto open sheath clamps” open one or both sheath clamps, after the tensile test, to prepare the fiber for removal. A new automated “clamshell design” tube heater applies heat to both sides of the splice protection sleeve resulting in a 13-second shrink time. The result is a total splice process time of approximately 21 seconds! Ruggedness and durability are greatly enhanced by a mirrorless optical system and a """"severe-impact resistant"""" monitor. Battery capacity is now 200 splices/shrinks.
Introducing the first-in-its-kind dual-stage cable fault locator from megger. The EZ-Thump 3 kV and updated 4 kV single-stage cable fault locators are small, portable, lightweight, and battery-operated cable faults.
