The AEMC DTR® Model 8511 Digital Transformer Ratiometer is a fully automatic, field-ready instrument designed for precise turns-ratio testing of power transformers, voltage/potential transformers (VT/PT), and current transformers (CT). It modernizes the trusted DTR® 8510 with higher test power, improved diagnostics, and enhanced usability.

Transformer Turns Ratiometer Testing Features

  • Wide ratio measurement range: Up to 8000:1 in VT/PT mode, up to 1000:1 in CT mode
  • High excitation current up to 2 A with optimized 64 Hz test frequency
  • Fully automatic operation—no calibration, balancing, or range selection required
  • Displays turns ratio, excitation current, polarity, and % deviation from nameplate
  • Built-in continuity testing to detect open windings
  • Automatic checks for lead reversal and wiring errors
  • Stores up to 9,801 test results internally
