This Sonatest AWS 45° Snail calibration wedge is used to set up and verify ultrasonic angle-beam inspections in steel. The semicircular “snail” geometry provides a known sound path for confirming beam angle, exit point, and index before scanning.


Compatibility (Check Before You Buy)

  • Probe interface: Compatible with AWS-case angle-beam transducers.
  • Element sizes: Accepts common AWS-case probe faces (e.g., 0.625″×0.625″, 0.625″×0.75″, 0.75″×0.75″). No fixed “nominal size” is required for the wedge itself.
  • Use case: Pre-scan calibration/verification for 45° shear-wave inspections.
  • Not for: Accupath 0.50″ or miniature case probes.
